Full Snowman Head and Body (Made in one piece, Worked in the Round)

With F Hook and White Worsted Weight Yarn,

1 – 6 SC in adjustable ring

3 – *SC in next SC, INC in next, repeat from * around = 18 SC
4-6 – SC around = 18 SC
7 – *SC in next SC, INV DEC, repeat from * around = 12 SC
8 – INV DEC around = 6 SC, stuff head firmly.
9 – INC in each stitch around = 12 SC

18 – Using both loops again, *SC in next SC, INV DEC, repeat from * around and SC in last SC = 11 SC, stuff.
19 – INV DEC 5 times, and make one SC in last SC = 6 SC.

Finish off by threading yarn tail into tapestry needle and weaving through each outer loop of last round and gather tightly.  Knot and hide tail inside body.

Nose

With orange thread or half-plied worsted weight yarn and 1.25mm hook and working flat,

1 – CH 7 (1 is to turn).  SC in 2nd from hook and each across = 6
2 – SC across, CH 1, turn = 6
3 – DEC, SC 4, CH 1, turn = 5
4 – DEC, SC 3, CH 1, turn = 4
5 – SC across, CH 1, turn = 4
6 – DEC, SC 2, CH 1, turn = 3
7 – DEC, SC 1, CH 1, turn = 2
8 – SC 2, CH 1, fold long sides together so they meet and SS in sides of 7 rows, leave long tail for sewing.  Stuff nose with beginning tail and a scrap of yarn if necessary.  Use tail to sew nose to face.

Hat

With black and F Hook, Working in the Round,

1 – 6 SC in Adjustable Ring
2 – INC around = 12
3 – SC BLO around = 12
4-6 – SC in both loops around = 12
7 – *SC in next, INC in next, repeat from * around = 18
8 – INC in each stitch around = 36. Slip stitch in next and finish off. Weave in end.  Attach to snowman’s head by stitching on or gluing.

2-4 – SS in each stitch across, CH 1, turn until end of row 4.  Finish off, hiding ends in work. Wrap around snowman’s neck and glue or sew in place.

Melting Snowman Head

Complete Rounds 1-5 of Full Snowman.  Finish off leaving a tail for sewing.

Melting Snowman Body

With F Hook and White Worsted Weight Yarn,

1 – 6 SC in adjustable ring
2 – INC in each SC around = 12 SC
3 – *SC in next SC, INC in next, repeat from * around = 18 SC
4 – *SC in next 2 SC, INC in next, repeat from * around = 24
5 – SC 4, HDC, DC in next 2, HDC, SC in next 3, DC in next 7, HDC, SC, SS 4 times.
6 – For this round, randomly make SS, SC, HDC, DC and Tr but make two in each stitch around = 48.  This makes each snowman unique and more realistic as they never melt into perfect circles.
7 – Optional round – SC around.

Stuff head and sew it towards one side or towards the back of the body.  Make hat, carrot nose, and scarf if desired.  Finish with beads for eyes, mouth, and buttons.
