Let the Yarndango Begin! Cue Music

Well, this should be interesting.  Today is the first day of August so it is the first official day of my Yarndango challenge!  In one week, I should have the first amigurumi project done and posted here.  My wonderfully talented friend and fellow blogger, Peter Parkour, came up with this awesome badge for me!   He blogs at Ha! Tea ‘n’ Danger and I’ve been fortunate enough to have blogged with him long enough to see Hate and Anger turned into Ha! Tea ‘n’ Danger.  You’ll get it when you see his blog.  Love him!  Thank you, Peter!

If anyone cares to join me in this challenge, all you need to do is crochet or knit or even sew one amigurumi a week for a month and link here to share.  I will be doing the challenge for a whole year but you only need to do it for a month to earn the badge, which you can download here.  Join me – it will be fun and give you a deadline to force out a little creativity.  At the very least, pray for me!!!  🙂

  1. Ooh – yay! I’m doing similar myself anyway, aiming for a pattern a week, be it my own design or making someone elses so I’ll totally participate with ya for at least the month. I gots my first three weeks all designed just need to do the making part lol. Do we just link on this post or any post as the month goes on?
(Link linked below not an entry since it was posted before the start lol)

Awesome! I figured some crafters were doing it anyway so we should all get rewarded with at least a cool badge, right? 🙂 Oh, good question about linking – sure link to this post and hopefully, I will create a page later with all the links if there are enough others who join in on the fun so we can all share and be inspired by each other! I love the designs I’ve already seen at your blog so can’t wait to see what you come up with. 🙂 Gooooo Yarndango!!!!!

  2. I couldn’t thread a needle if my life depended on it, so I’m out. LOL

Aw, c’mon. If I can do it, so can anybody! 🙂 Regardless, I may still need your ideas and help getting ideas so stay tuned!

  3. Good luck, Teeni! I wish I could join you, but I’m afraid crochet is not one of my skills.

Thank you, Hannah! I know you would if you could! 🙂

  4. You are welcome, Teeni, and thank you for the honor/privilege, thank you for the linky love and thank you for just being here to thank. 😉 It’s great having you back to blogging. I loved the frog and the aliens, and I’m looking forward to your next creation. 🙂

  5. I will do it…can’t crochet but I can make hats and scarfs with my knifty knitter. Working on a blue child size hat this week.

Awesome, Melanie! I am so excited to have you join in! Peter actually made an even better badge for me that I will update here as soon as I can get back to my regular computer in a couple of days, so I will let you know and you can take a copy of it then for your blog if you like.

  6. OMG, if I could crochet or knit, I would soooooo be doing this! I can only knit a scarf 😉 Baby-steps! LOL! You know how I feel about your creations, they amaze me! You had me at Gub!

Aww, I am so glad you like my little mad cro-ations! LOL. And I know you would join in if you could, but you are so talented in other areas and I love seeing what YOU are making! 🙂

  7. I don’t do any of those things, but I will be watching your results with eager eyes!

Also gardening. I think I will design my farm garden this month!

Hi Leaf! Good to see you! I am jealous that you will get to have a garden. We did not have one this year because we were just doing too much work on the inside of the house to have time to tend the garden. But there is nothing better than tomatoes right from your garden!

  8. Yarndango week 2 post is up 🙂

You are so far ahead of me! I apologize for not getting my posts up sooner, but will do better in the future. I had that order of six GUB dolls to get out this week and that really put me behind. I forgot how much detail is in each eye that I made on the GUB dolls! But they have been sent and the order is filled so now I should be meeting my own deadlines! LOL. I will link again to your posts. Thank you for letting me know!

    • Sounds like you’ve had a busy time of it! I’m enjoying doing it regardless lol

Oh, it was a rough week all around because I was behind on the GUB doll order and I had a camping trip (with all that extra laundry that goes with it, LOL) and my first Yarndango project to finish! Yikes! But it should get a little more calm now, thank goodness! I’m glad you are having fun. Even though my week was crazy busy, I actually am enjoying it too! It is fun and creative and good for the soul, I think. That’s the best way to describe how I feel right now. 🙂 So glad I met you through the lovely art of crochet! <3

  13. Oh no!! It’s the end of the month and just saw this post. However, I have already made an amirugumi over each week. Is it too late to join and can I backpost my items?

It’s never too late! Would love to have you join and you can certainly backpost! I will link you up! Don’t forget to help yourself to a copy of the Yarndango badge. It’s wonderful that you were doing it anyway, so was Amiguruthi, but this brings us a little closer together and gets more social as well as we get to inspire each other! So welcome, welcome, welcome! 🙂

Update: I just visited your blog but could not comment. I realize your last post was a while ago but I love your crochet projects, hope you are not in too much pain now and hey – great job on the countertops! 🙂

  16. I just heard about this…… Will start in Oct.
Not that I can do much, just very simple critters…….

Hi Lori! That is wonderful that you will join in and very simple critters totally count! Do you have a blog where you will be posting your finished objects? Please feel free to contact me – I have a contact form up there somewhere I think. Welcome to the Yarndango!

  17. No blog, but I have a Facebook page…..

Blogs and dial up don’t mix, can’t get pictures loaded.

That’s okay! A facebook page is still something I can link to! Just let me know when you have posted something to include in Yarndango and I will link to it. I try to put up my posts with links on Wednesdays. Today I accidentally posted early (hit the publish button before I was ready). LOL
